Description
The Antonov An-2 aircraft registered SP-FIN from Jelenia Góra was destroyed on 18 January 2007 as a result of a tornado. The aircraft was torn loose from its concrete anchoring blocks and thrown by the wind onto another, identical Antonov An-2 registered SP-AOA.
Following the incident, aircraft SP-FIN was formally written off as an airworthy aircraft. However, the fuselage—stripped of its engine, wings, and tail assembly—was preserved and now rests on the bottom of the Zakrzówek Querry in Kraków at a depth of 24 meters, where it is accessible to divers.
