Star 742L Truck
Description
At a depth of 16 meters in the “Koparki” Quarry Diving Base in Jaworzno, Poland, lies a Star 742L truck, deliberately sunk in summer 2022 as a diver attraction. Produced from 1993 to 1999, it was one of the last fully Polish-made trucks, mainly used for cargo distribution.
The Star 742L typically had a 4.4L Andoria engine with 105 HP, consuming around 15–18L/100 km, though we can’t confirm if this exact truck had that engine.
Despite its utility, the model was known for issues with auxiliary components, the clutch, and the gearbox, along with poor anti-corrosion protection.
Now covered in sediment and algae, the submerged Star 742L has taken on a mysterious, post-apocalyptic look, drawing diving enthusiasts.
