Wilhelm
Description
At a depth of around 18 metres in the “Koparki” Quarry Diving Base in Jaworzno, Poland, lies the Wilhelm shipwreck – purposely sunk in May 2015 as a new attraction for divers.
The sinking was carefully planned and carried out during a public event.
As one of the most recognizable wrecks in the quarry, Wilhelm offers ideal conditions for underwater photography, training, and exploration
Today, Wilhelm sits upright on the quarry floor at about 18 metres depth, slowly being reclaimed by nature. Covered in algae and silt, with its shadowy hull and dark corners, it has a mysterious, post-apocalyptic feel that keeps divers coming back.
